Hi Everest,

I have the following code value (code is under PlayingEntity):
<hl7:code nullFlavor="OTH" codeSystem="2.16.840.1.113883.6.96" codeSystemName="SNOMED-CT" displayName="No Known Allergies" />

When validation runs on this line I get the following 2 errors:
Data type 'CV' failed basic validation, the violation was : CodeSystem can only be used when Code is populated or NullFlavor does implies Other
Data type 'CV' failed basic validation, the violation was : DisplayName cannot be populated unless CodeSystem is populated

It appears that my xml should pass validation but I'm not sure if that's correct or not. Can you advise?

Phil

Hi Phil,

I will check the validation logic, your XML looks valid, although what I've seen for null-flavoured CV instances are typically represented like this:

Code:

<hl7:code nullFlavor="OTH" codeSystem="2.16.840.1.113883.6.96" codeSystemName="SNOMED-CT">
    <hl7:originalText type="text/plain">No known allergies</hl7:originalText>
</hl7:code>

I will look into the validation routine on CV and see if there is a bug. I will also update the messages so that they make more sense.

Hi Phil,

I have corrected this bug in the validation routine. It should be safe to ignore with 1.2.12 and I will incorporate the fix into 1.2.13.

Cheers

Hey Justin,

This seems to still be tripping on 1.2.13.
